I got my wireless router working, but the network adapter in my room wont install. Why?

I bought a wireless router and network adapter. The router i hooked up in the front room (to the comp with internet) and its working, seeing as how im online now. but i tried installing the wireless adapter to the comp in my room (no internet) and it wont install. Anyone know why?

    you have to be connected to be able to install it so connect your wireless router to that computer first to download your adapter then after you get it download put the wireless router back to the other computer and you should be all set .

    The router and adapters I bought all came with CD’s for installing. Just plugged in the adapters, put the CD in and let it go. Answered a couple of questions and rebooted.

    Brand of product may differ in methods of installing.
